Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
