Curtis Jones has revealed that Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.

The Incident

The striker was dropped from a vital match after voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”

The manager has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.

Team Unity

He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Team Form

Their results have remained strong in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
